Item Sku: G2765
Description:
Antonio Escorcia, a third generation jeweler, brings a unique and rare pair of earrings to our collection. The earrings are crafted from a combination of round briolette cut Labradorites and cushion shaped Cabochon white Moonstone. Clever in his designs, Antonio uses a wire scroll top that is hand-forged and designed by him. From the scroll wire worked top, hangs the bezel set Moonstone and then the faceted Labradorite. The earrings are finished with a post and clutch. Labradorite is named for where it was found in Labrador, a Canadian province on the Isle of Paul. Inuits once called labradorite a "fire stone" and would use powdered forms to help cure ailments. Labradorite is most commonly known for its brilliant flashes of color called labradoressence caused by lamellar twinning inside the crystal. Named for its sheen, moonstone is the most well-known gemstone of the feldspar group. Loved by the ancient Greeks and Romans (who thought it was solidified moonlight), it was the gemstone to offer to lunar goddesses like Selene, Luna and Artemis.
