Mimi grew up in Henderson, NC, with Russ and was fiercely motivated to earn her Graduate Gemologist degree while pregnant with their first child. She has traveled the world teaching children and women in the missions field, as well as teaching first and second grade Sunday school. They have two wonderful children, Gabrielle and Rhett, and a cute little Maltese named Louie.

Russ is a second-generation jeweler, following in the footsteps of his father, Elliott Brummitt, who owned the famous Charles Hopkins Jewelry Store in Chapel Hill, NC. Russ has over 40 years of jewelry bench experience. Russ was an art major in college and was President of his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. He enjoys playing golf, fishing at the coast, and is a big Duke fan.
